BOL Preparedness Tests

Dear Divine Family,

Om Shanti. To enable us to transition to a single technology for all BOL users, we would like to request all of you to perform the following tests to make sure that you are ready to receive BOL via the Web. We need to phase out the Windows Media technology that is not supported by Microsoft any longer.

If you have successfully received BOL transmission via the Web on Nov 15, 2016, then you are all set! There is no need for you to do the Technology Tests 1 & 2. You just need to do the Password Test (see below).

If you have used Windows Media Player to receive BOL on Nov 15, then you need to do all the 3 tests.

All of you, no matter what kind of devices you have (Windows PC, Apple, Linux, Android etc), can receive BOL on your system by using one of the following browsers:

• FireFox version 42 and above
• Safari version 8 and above
• Chrome (all versions)
• Internet Explorer version 11 and above
• Microsoft Edge
• Opera version 27 and above

Please perform the following tests using one of the above browsers on your system.

(1) Technology Test1 (Video Stream test)
The purpose of this test is to make sure that you can see the video and hear the audio through your browser.
Please open the following link in your web browser:

If the video appears on your screen and sound is audible, then this test is successful. Even if the stream is not playing continuously it is OK. It will be better on Baba's day (thanks to more local servers on that day).

If the video is not playing, please make sure that you have the correct/latest version of the browser (as above).
Please also make sure that you have Javascript (NOT Java) enabled in your browser. There is NO NEED to install JAVA or anything else. It is just a matter of changing the settings in your browser.

(2) Technology Test2 (Stereo Audio test)
The purpose of this test is to make sure that you are receiving the audio in stereo.
Please open the following link in your web browser:

This stream requires a higher bandwidth (400Kbps). You may or may not receive this continuously during this test (it will be OK on Baba's day). However, the main purpose of this test is to make sure that you are receiving the stream in stereo. You should be able to adjust the "sound controls" on your computer to change the volume levels on each of the channels as desired by you (left is Hindi, right is English).

(3) Password Test
The purpose of this test is to make sure that you have a valid BOL User ID/PW.
